our pool

Yesterday was only the second time that we've used our nice little pool this summer (I actually haven't even been in it once). We have been spending so much time away that we just haven't had a chance to use it!

The kids had fun splashing around in the water but it was kinda cold, so it was a short swim. We put Ella in a fun little float but she just wanted to get out of it and go swimming! She kept on trying to get her legs out of the holes.... so eventually Daddy got her out and let her swim.

new fish

Last week one of Iain's fish died. It was one that he had for awhile. I was worried about telling him because I didn't want him to be upset. Sean was getting ready to take the dead fish out of the tank when Iain came into the room and asked what he was doing. We told him that the fish was dead and we had to send him to his watery grave (the toilet). Before we could even get it flushed, Iain was asking very excitedly to go to the pet store and get a new fish. Not even a tear or a whimper for his old fish! So, we went to the pet store.... right then.... couldn't wait even 30 seconds (the toilet was probably still running from the flush) and got 2 new fish. He was so excited to pick them out at the store. The next morning he got out of bed and went over to the tank to check on the new fish and said "Mommy are they dead yet?" I just asked him what he was talking about and he said "I want to go to the pet store and get new fish." Well, we didn't get anymore fish.... and the new ones are still living!

gym

Well, I finally did it....I joined the gym. Last Sunday I decided that I am tired of not liking what I see when I look in the mirror. I am tired of people asking me if I am pregnant when I'm not....yes, it happens all the time and if any of you ever ask me if I am pregnant, I will tell you I am due in December. It's the worst feeling to have someone ask me that, and they are positive that I am pregnant otherwise they wouldn't have asked. So, I told Sean I wanted him to be my "live in" personal trainer. On Monday we went to Gold's Gym and signed me up. We have started a diet and taken some before pictures (which no one will ever see except me....and Sean). We have already been to the gym several times. I love being able to have some extra time with my husband too. He is such a wonderful motivation for me. He pushes me harder than I would ever push myself....I couldn't ask for a better workout partner! I know he will help not to feel discouraged or fizzel out cause it's to hard. I can't wait to get my old body back!

little girl

Bathing Beauty

Feeling the rain

just plain cute!

Ella is getting bigger by the day! She is crawling like crazy and getting into everthing. She trys to climb the stairs and she can pull herself up to a stand. Before we know it, she will be one year old! My little baby will soon be a little girl!

On Sunday....

....we hung out with Sean's parents. The weather forecast wasn't so good, but we had planned on going out on the boat. We decided to stick with that plan but just keep the boat docked. So we had some lunch on the boat....it rained, then we decided to go in the pool whether it was raining or not because we were pretty hot. By the time we changed and got to the pool, the rain had stopped. Ella loves being in the water. It made her very happy to get wet and cooled off! It turned out to be a very fun day!

CANNONBALL!!

My little fish!

We were very lucky to capture this snuggle time. Iain and Ella love each other so much!

Another weekend away

Sean can't get enough of looking at cars. The Syracuse Nationals were last weekend and Sean couldn't miss it. On Saturday he drove the GTO out for the show and spent the day there with his Dad. This time, I didn't attempt to bring the kids out in the heat. I went over to my parent's house and hung out in the air conditioning. While Ella was napping, we brought Iain in the pool. Bamma and I had a blast making waves and doing handstands (she does a pretty good handstand for a Gramma!) Iain had fun too, swimming, splashing and jumping in over and over again. He stayed in the pool for an hour and a half....until his teeth were chattering. Later that evening, Sean took me back to the car show (no kids). We met Jude and Aaron there and saw the tractor pull and flame throwing cars (heeeee haw!)....followed by some pretty lame fireworks. Then we went for a cruise in our cars and stopped for some ice cream. A fun filled evening indeed! Thanks Grandparents for watching our children!

Visiting Aunt Colleen and Uncle John

We decided to visit Aunt Colleen and Uncle John after the car show in Carlisle since it is only 2 hours away. We arrived in Virginia on Sunday at about 3pm. Colleen made a nice dinner for us and after we went out for ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery (or as Iain likes to call it, Creamy Stone). The next day John had to work but Colleen took us to The Air and Space Museum. Iain liked looking at all the planes and space shuttles.... Ella went to sleep. That evening after dinner John took us down to the pool. He and Sean took the kids in for a swim. Iain was swimming so well with blow up swimmies on his arms. He was jumping in and going under all by himself! Ella liked to splash and kick, laughing the whole time. Unfortunatly my camera battery died and I couldn't take any pictures of time in the pool.... maybe next time. We left Tuesday morning to head for home. It's a long drive when your doing it all in one shot! But we made it safely and the car didn't break down until we were in the driveway.... poor Sean can't get a break.

Iain and Aunt Colleen next to a rocket engine.

cars, cars, cars

Wow! A car that looks just like Daddy's!

Hot Baby

Big burnouts!

Dinner at Applebees

Last weekend we went to the all Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle, PA. We stayed at our friends parent's house, who live in Carlisle but were away for the weekend (thanks Mr. and Mrs. Smith). Sean didn't bring his car, but he still had a great time looking at other people's Chrysler's. The only set back was the heat. It was so hot out and there was no shade. We brought the kids over to the show on Saturday morning and they only lasted about an hour. So I left Sean at the show and took the kids back to the house. It was so nice to have a place to bring them to get cool and have naps. While the kids slept, I watched TV and got to relax a little. We went back later for the burnout competition (still really hot.... Ella was miserable). By the time the burnouts were done, Sean was ready to leave. So we went out to dinner with Sean's friend Chris and my boss Doug (who got us into the show for free, thanks!) and his kids Tim and Michael. On Sunday morning, Sean took Iain back to the show for a little while before packing up and heading out to Virginia....

In between trips....

We where at home in between trips last week for one day (Thursday). On our day off we met our friends Ryan and Lauren Issakainen for lunch and took the kids on the merry-go-round.

Camping in the Adirondaks

July 7 - 9 we went camping on Piseco Lake. My parents were staying nearby at Camp-of-the-Woods on Lake Pleasent, so we spent a lot of time with them. Unfortunatly, Iain wasn't feeling well for most of the time. He acted kind of dumpy for a day and a half, but we still had a good time. Ella discovered that sand is fun and it tastes pretty good.

Ella's crawling!

About a week ago, Ella started crawling. She loves to crawl over to cords and pull on them or pull the videos off the shelf. All things that she shouldn't do.... but she looks so cute when she is doing it!

ZOO!!

On Monday (June 23rd), Iain and I went to the zoo with my friend Miriam and her son Ethan. Iain wanted so badly to see the penguins and Ethan wanted to see snakes. We had such a good time hanging out!

When Daddy was away....

Sorry, I have been neglecting my blog. It has been so long, I have to post things that happened 2 weeks ago! Sean went to a car show in Detroit for a few days. He left on June 20th (his Birthday) and came home on June 25th. I decided to bring the kids to my Mom's for a few days while he was gone. She had gotten this big tent thing that was shaped like a train and put it up in the living room. The kids had a blast playing in it!
