Medley Center

Yesterday I took the kids to the Medley Center indoor playground. I couldn't get a picture of Iain that wasn't blurry. He was constantly moving.... didn't stop for one second so I could take a picture! Ella just had a great time rolling around on the extra cushiony, padded, carpet. They had a lot of fun!

Last Weekend....

I've gotten a little behind on my posts, so I am going to catch up on last weekend's events. We were in Syarcuse to celebrate Sean and Linda's birthdays and Father's Day so the weekend was pretty full. Colleen and John came to visit also....which is always a treat.
On Saturday we spent the afternoon on the boat. Grandma and Aunt Colleen had fun playing with ella.

John, Sean and Dave did some fishing....

Sean took Iain swimming in the pool at the Marina. It was the first time this year that Iain had gone in the pool. He didn't want to get out.

On Father's day morning, we spent time with Grandpa Campbell....

....after lunch we went over to my sister's house to hang out with Papa Hopp. As usual, Iain had a blast playing with AJ and Micah and didn't want to go home.

Happy Birthday!!

June 19th for Linda. June 20th for Sean.
We love you!

Father's Day

Well, I couldn't let Father's Day pass without saying how wonderful Dads are. It seems as though Mother's Day gets a lot more attention for some reason. But where would our Mothers be wihtout our Fathers? Sometimes the hard work of a Father goes unnoticed. Maybe that's because, as kids see it, Dad isn't around as much. He gets up early and goes off to work and is gone all day. I think sometimes we forget about how hard they work to provide for us.

Sometimes I forget to appreciate all that Sean does for the kids and me. All I can think about is the fact that he isn't home yet and I am tired and want help. After all, I've been taking care of 2 small childern all day.... and when I stop to think about what my wonderful husband has been doing all day, I can't really complain. He's been standing in front of 150 rude teenagers trying to get them to listen to what he is teaching them.... and he still comes home to help me. What a great husband and father!

sweater coat

This morning, we where going downstairs for breakfast and Iain had his blanket wrapped around his shoulders. As he was scooting down the stairs on his hinny he said "When I grow up, I think I am going to make this (the blanket) into a sweater coat." Sometimes he says the most random things. It makes me want to carry around a notepad just to write down some of the stuff he says.... maybe I should start doing that.

Play date with Abbot and Arie

Today I brought the kids over to Bree's house to play. It was a good time. There was only one instance of chaos when 3 of the 4 kids were whining at the same time.

WOW

I bought Iain a Thomas the train puzzle at a garage sale. Unfortunatly, it didn't come with a box showing what it is supposed to look like. But he put it togather all by himself!

healthy girl

On Monday Ella had her 9 month well child visit at the doctor's. She is growing very well. She is in the 97th percentile for height (50% being average) and 7o% for weight.... tall like Aunt Colleen! She had one shot and barely cryed, but Iain did! He was sad that his baby sister got stuck with a needle. He gave her a hug to make her feel better.

girls girls girls....

On Sunday we gathered at Ryan and Lauren Issakainen's house to meet a new addition to the Issakainen family. Emma Green was born to Matt and Kelly in April and Kelly brought her here to meet everyone. Unfortunatly, Kelly got a stomach bug and couldn't make it herself which was kind of a bummer. We missed you Kelly! There are a lot of baby girls around now. My sweet Ella, Abby Issakainen, Sophia Rheaum and now Emma!

Ella and Abby had fun playing together. They kept each other entertained!

Aunt Stacie met Emma for the first time. Sophie and Nikki looked so pretty. Sophie kept trying to kiss Ella but all Ella wanted to do was grab her face!

Making lunch

Today Iain wanted to help make lunch. We pulled a chair up to the kitchen counter and he helped me make mac and cheese.... in his underwear. Then he washed the bowl that he wanted to eat it out of. What a good little helper. He told me that he likes helping me.... to bad he doesn't like helping me pick up his toys!

the cousins visit

Last weekend we bought Iain a couple of "Rescue Heroes" at a garage sale and he was having so much fun playing with them. However, on Monday (after playing with his new toys by himself all weekend) he told me that he wished his cousin AJ could come over and play and bring some of his Rescue Heroes with him. So, Iain got on the phone and called Aunt Judy to ask her if AJ (and Micah) could come over to play. Of course, Aunt Judy couldn't say no.... Thursday afternoon she brought AJ and Micah out to play with Iain. We packed a picnic lunch and went to Webster Park.... which is right on the lake so it was a good way to cool off (it was about 10 degrees cooler there than it was at my house). The kids had fun swinging and throwing rocks in the water. The visit was short but kids had so much fun playing together!

Sweet Boy

Last night I got home from work around 9:40pm.... feeling a little grumpy and tired. I walk in the house and say hello to my exhausted husband, who can barely muster up a grunt in response and is just about passed out on the couch. Needless to say, his welcome didn't really make my mood any better. So I head into the kitchen to get a bite to eat when Iain starts calling me. I go upstairs thinking he is going to be whining that he wants a drink or can't get to sleep or something. I look into his room and he is sitting on his bed with a huge smile on his face and when he sees me he starts clapping his hands and bouncing on his bed. As soon as I walked in his room he wanted to give me a hug. He told me that he heard my car pull in the driveway and he wanted to say goodnight to me. What a sweet little mood booster!

Hat and mittens in June?

Iain saw me putting away his hat and mittens in his closet today and decided he wanted to wear them. I'm not quite sure why.... but he didn't leave them on for very long. Imagine that, he got hot!

Growing up....

Little Ella is growing so fast! Today she had cheerios and watermelon for the first time! Although, she wouldn't put it in her mouth by herself. I had to do that part. She would get it in her hand but not get it to her mouth. Which is a little strange since she puts everything else in her mouth.

Fishing

After Grandpa Campbell took Iain fishing for the first time, he had been wanting to go again. So, over the weekend he called Grandma and Grandpa and invited them to come fishing by our house. They went to the pond where I often take the kids to play (I was not there). Iain caught his first fish and reeled it in all by himself!

Iain wanted to bring the canoe out.... so they did. That's Daddy, Grandpa and Iain in the canoe.

Ella also went along but was not amused by all the fishing.
